Nestled near Marine City and Haeundae Beach, Geodae Gomtang (거대곰탕) is widely celebrated for serving some of the richest, milkiest Korean beef bone soups in Busan.
Operated by the masterminds behind the prestigious local beef institution Geodae Galbi, this restaurant simmers 100% premium Korean beef bones for hours to create a broth so deeply concentrated and velvety that it feels more like a collagen-packed elixir than a simple soup.
Opening bright and early at 7:00 AM, it is an essential morning stop for travelers seeking comforting breakfast warmth, authentic local breakfast spots near Dongbaek Island, or an exceptional restorative meal after exploring the coast.

I visited Geodae Gomtang right after its newly renovated opening in early September, and the building exterior is truly impressive. Born from the famous local beef brand Geodae Galbi, the team also operates a Michelin-recognized pork soup spot called Geodae Dwaeji Gukbap.

On busy weekends, there can be a long waitlist of up to 180 teams at this popular Haeundae breakfast restaurant. However, if you arrive right at the 7:00 AM morning opening time, you can enter without any waiting.

Normally, you can sit down and wait here comfortably until your calling number appears on the overhead monitor screen.

The newly reopened interior space is much wider than before, and it feels spacious enough to accommodate many dining guests at once.

Here is the English menu book provided for foreign visitors, making it easy to check all the beef bone soup options.

I ordered the Sari Gomtang Milky Soup for 21,000 KRW, which is served with bouncy house-made noodles and a mini bowl of rice, so I highly recommend choosing the noodle option.

If you add the minced garlic provided on top, the flavor of the broth completely transforms, and be sure to put in plenty of chopped green onions as well.

The newly renovated space offers a calm interior setting where you can enjoy your meal comfortably. The flavor remains just as delicious as always, making this my absolute favorite gomtang spot in Busan.

If you try their signature milky beef bone soup, you will instantly taste the deep richness of the hours-long boiled broth.

Right across the street, you will find OPS Bakery, one of the iconic bakery landmarks representing Busan.
In addition, you can also enjoy a relaxed morning at the neighboring brunch cafe!
