Operated by the culinary team behind Haeundae’s legendary Korean beef restaurant Geodae Galbi, Geodae Dwaeji Gukbap (거대돼지국밥) elevates Busan’s quintessential comfort food into an acclaimed dining experience officially featured in the Michelin Guide Busan 2027. Located near the scenic entrance of Dalmaji-gil by Haeundae Beach, this stylish, wood-toned restaurant redefines classic pork soup culture with modern aesthetics, touch-screen table ordering, and uncompromising broth purity.
What sets Geodae Dwaeji Gukbap apart is its dual-broth philosophy: diners can select between a milky, collagen-rich Deep Soup (진한 육수) extracted from pork bones or a crystal-clear, consommé-style Meat Broth Soup (맑은 육수) simmered purely from premium pork cuts. Served alongside artisan spicy green onion kimchi, melt-in-your-mouth boiled pork slices (suyuk), and boutique Korean spirits, it provides international travelers with an impeccably clean, odorless, and elevated taste of authentic Busan pork soup.

I visited Geodae Dwaeji Gukbap, which was recently selected for the Michelin Guide Busan 2027. This is one of my favorite local restaurants that I visit once every two weeks, so it is a bit bitter-sweet knowing that longer wait times will make it harder to dine here now. However, the food is exceptionally delicious and I have recommended it to friends for a long time, so I highly recommend it.

Upon arriving, it is best to head straight to the waiting kiosk near the entrance to register your party. If you wish to avoid long queues, visiting on weekday afternoons between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM usually offers minimal to no wait times.

Following a recent interior remodeling, the dining space now offers significantly more comfortable seating tables.

Ordering is remarkably easy for travelers, as the table tablet screens support full menus in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Please refer to the digital table screens for the full selection of menus and seasonal offerings.

Looking through the wooden window blinds, you can often spot a peaceful cat resting in the outdoor courtyard garden.

Whenever I visit, I always order the signature Deep Soup Geodae Pork + Rice set (₩16,000).

Adding a spoonful of minced garlic into the boiling broth enriches the aroma and overall depth of flavor. The broth here is remarkably deep, savory, and comforting. Because the soup comes lightly seasoned by default, please taste it first before adding extra seasoning to suit your preference.

The tender pork pairs wonderfully with pickled onions or seasoned shredded radish, and the crunchy radish salad in particular suited my taste perfectly.

Every dining venue managed by the Geodae brand—including their premium Korean beef dining, beef gomtang restaurant, and this pork soup space—delivers outstanding taste and consistent quality. It is truly a dependable culinary name you can always trust in Busan!
