This visit features Yangkyungoak, a Pyongyang naengmyeon specialty restaurant selected for the 2027 Michelin Guide Busan.

Because the restaurant is located inside an alley building, you need to walk past this path to enter. It was originally situated at Dalmaji Hill in Haeundae and recently relocated to its current spot near Gwangalli Beach.

Passing along the white alleyway leads you to the red brick entrance.

Inside, the dining area is thoughtfully arranged with five tables, providing a comfortable and spacious environment.

You can inspect the entire food and drink selection on the menu board.

For this meal, Pyongyang naengmyeon (₩14,000), bibim naengmyeon (₩14,000), and a half plate of sliced boiled pork (₩5,000) were ordered. The dishes arrived at the table relatively quickly.

The sliced boiled pork features an exceptionally chewy texture. Pairing each slice with the seasoned red salted shrimp creates a balanced harmony, especially when the delicate cold noodle broth feels slightly understated, making it a highly recommended side dish.

The spicy bibim naengmyeon was particularly impressive. While flavorfully addictive, it avoids being overly spicy or salty, offering a pleasantly wholesome and natural taste.

And as for the Pyongyang naengmyeon, my experience with North Korean cold buckwheat noodles is still modest, so the subtle broth felt somewhat plain at first, suggesting that more tasting practice may be needed. Even so, the overall dining experience was deeply satisfying, leaving a strong desire to return.

A delicate complimentary dessert was served at the end of the meal, which was also thoroughly enjoyed. Because the restaurant was only recently listed in the Michelin Guide Busan, there was no waiting line during this visit. A visit is warmly recommended.

There is another restaurant in Gwangalli serving Pyongyang naengmyeon selected for the Michelin Guide. Feel free to check out this guide as well.
