Conveniently situated in Suyeong near Mangmi Station, right between Gwangalli Beach and Haeundae, Chef202 is a cozy neighborhood diner specializing in home-style pork bulbaek (marinated sliced pork set meal). Helmed by an experienced chef who built an extensive culinary career in Seoul’s fine-dining scene—including the Michelin-starred Jungsikdang—this intimate spot focuses entirely on perfecting a single dish: savory, fire-kissed pork prepared with house-made marinades.
Operating strictly for lunch on weekdays, Chef202 serves a deeply satisfying meal centered around three signature styles of pork—Soy Sauce, Gochujang (spicy red pepper paste), and Salt-grilled. Each platter arrives beautifully grilled with tender meat, fresh chives, and hearty Korean side dishes. For travelers exploring the area between Gwangalli and Haeundae, Chef202 offers an authentic, comforting taste of local Korean comfort food.

I recently visited a trending dining spot in Suyeong that has been gaining much attention. It opened not long ago and is a dedicated bulbaek restaurant run by a chef from the Michelin-starred Jungsikdang, focusing solely on this single specialty.

Both the exterior and interior seamlessly blend the atmosphere of a traditional Korean diner with the feel of a modern bistro.

I was very curious to taste the culinary mastery honed over twenty years in professional kitchens.

This area provides a separate, cozy private room seating option.

The menu consists exclusively of pork bulbaek, and you can choose one from three distinct styles: soy sauce, gochujang, or salt-grilled.

It features a completely open kitchen layout.

You can freely bring extra side dishes and fresh wraps from the self-service bar if you need more.

A full table spread was served promptly. It included the signature grilled pork platter, freshly steamed rice, hot soup, and assorted fresh vegetables.

I chose the soy sauce flavor. The stir-fried cabbage served together was exceptionally tasty, and the pork had an ideal meat-to-fat balance without being greasy. The seasoning was perfectly balanced as well.

Wrapping the pork in fresh perilla leaf with a little ssamjang and pickled celery created a vibrant harmony of flavors and matched the seasoning wonderfully. I look forward to returning soon to try the other two flavors. As this is a comforting Korean meal that appeals to all tastes without hesitation, I gladly recommend it.

I would like to recommend two nice cafes located nearby.
